I keep the dogs ID tags and Rabies tag on a collar- when we are going out, they get the collar put on in addition to their harness- since I switch harnesses a lot and also use them under clothes sometimes this was the easiest way to do it. They are pretty lightweight collars and don't seem to bother them. I also have the tags on a little clip, so if I want to switch collars at any point it is easier.
