Not the best way to handle this type of problem...you are reenforcing her fear.
You should make her a den out of a pen etc. cover with a blanket...some like to be hidden. ..or it can be game time and bring out special treats and new toys...she will take her cue from you...if you are upset because she is upset, it makes her more upset...when the Pack Leader is fine, all is well...mine hear a loud noise and look at me..if I remain clam, they barely notice..mine have slept through a hurricane, with me in bed asleep also.
