Having two little furbies our carpet is getting REALLY dirty so I'm looking to get it cleaned with minimal cost.

Unfortunately, it's a multi color carpet(rug) so I can't tell where the stain is. So to make things short, two questions for those that have multi color carpets.

1. Do you use a steam vacuum cleaner? If so, what worked the best for you?
(I saw a post somewhere else that suggested: Hoover SteamVac F5912900, any opinion?)

2. Have you tried blacklight? Again, which one worked the best?
(I think majority of the ppl said the flashlight type works the best?)

My sense of smell isn't the best but I think I can detect a hint of urine around the livingroom so that says alot. I'd appreciate any advise/info you guys can provide. Thanks!
