hello everyone!
firstly, my baby Clover is a chihuahua x yorkie so i don't expect the same rules of a purebred yorkie coat to apply, but i'm quite lost!
he was born looking like a typical yorkie and even now at 9 months, everyone thinks he is a full yorkie.
however, his fur hasn't grown in length at all since i first had him...
i don't mind if its a cotton or silky, but i'd like it to be long enough for the winter!
from reading up on this forum i imagine he is a cotton, as its fluffy soft and has a slight curl to it.

the above is when he was a tiny pup.

this one is the longest he has ever had his coat at 7 months.
its very fine and there's not a lot of it either.
ironically the longest bits of hair are on his ears!
i took him to the groomers for a first trim into a puppy cut, as i heard a trim would encourage longer growths.
this is what he looked like with the cut.

its been two months and he doesn't look much different!
there's a little fuzzy halo effect going on around his muzzle but the general length is still rather short.
his knees are almost bald and his tummy is completely!
you can see the pink skin when you stroke him on his head too.
is this just due to his background? or would i have to wait till he is older to see if he coat will grow longer and thicker?
he is taking vit E suppliments and on 80% meat content food, so i think nutritionally he is sorted.
i would just love him to have long/more hair! please advise!!!
