I wouldn't be too afraid of the larger dog as long as they get along. While my Silky doesn't come home until tomorrow my two dogs that I have now have crated together since the second one came home. The Golden is about 90lbs and the Rat Terrier is about 18lbs. Ginger stretches out on one half of the crate and Tudie usually curls up in the back corner with her head on Ginger's butt. They've been fine together for about 7 years now.
