Default Here's what I found..

Canine urinary tract infection can occur in dogs at any age and with any breed. Canine nutrition can play an important role in making sure your dog is healthy, but often bacteria-causing agents can affect your dog and cause this common problem. Should you notice your dog has changed his behavior with regard to urinating, you should contact your veterinarian immediately.

Canine urinary tract infection can be detected if your dog is urinating frequently, straining when urinating or even needing to go outside way too often. Pet vitamins and canine supplements might help in this situation, but antibiotics could also be prescribed. Nevertheless, be sure and take care of the problem as soon as it is detected.

Canine urinary tract infection can be treated with medications and it is not a life threatening situation for your pet. It can however be quite uncomfortable as you and your dog spend time outdoors and you try to do everything you can to eliminate his discomfort. During this time be sure and give your dog plenty of fresh water and exercise.

While your four-legged friend might not be up to playing as much as usual you can still give him comfort in knowing that you are there. Always remember to discuss your dog's condition with the veterinarian before putting him on any medication. Additionally, before taking him off medication that has been prescribed, discuss this with your dog's veterinarian.

I'm not sure if it makes a difference that the puppy is so young or not.
