My baby had several medical issues and it took awhile to get them all sorted out. Fortunately, they weren't life threatening. However over time it did add up. Thankfully I didn't have to do everything all at once. I don't want to scare you put you should be prepare for vet bills. This goes for any pet healthy or not. If you are able to, set some money aside monthly for your little one's care. That way in the event that you do have vet bills you will be prepare.
