My DH was always a 'big dog guy'. Little dogs were worthless. After many years, I put my foot down & said that this time was my turn. He finally agreed. He had an open attitude about it though. It didn't take long and Roxy had wormed her way into his heart, and he thinks she's really special. It wasn't long and he told me I got the best of the litter. He didn't even see the litter. Ha! Then he started taking her with him places, made her a seat in his big tractor, etc. I have to chuckle to myself everytime it happens. : ) Sometimes I would hear him talking sweet to her & loving on her when he didn't know I heard it. I make a point of not teasing him about it. Big is still young. Give him some time to work his number on your DH. It'll probably happen.

Sometimes these guys just need to get over themselves and grow up. If he's like this with Big, he's likely to be like this with skinbabies too. This will be good practice.

The only other time DH copped an attitude over a dog was when I got a pom/beagle mix years ago. She was the best dog we'd ever had. All she ever wanted from DH was to love him. He acted like fool everytime she got near him. Now we have an even smaller dog and he's nuts over her. Go figure!

Good luck!
