I'm having a similar problem. Meika, my 3 yr. old Morkie is getting fat, in my opinion. Surprisingly, the vet doesn't think so, she says she is just stockier & deep chested. Wrong. She is getting too fat.
My 4 are used to getting fed a measured amount in separate bowls twice a day but they don't finish it up right away, and will snack away at it for hours. That means Meika is eating the other's food. So I'm having to monitor the intake of all 4 now and pick the bowls up. Tiki is picky and thin, Kayla is just right, and Karlee doesn't need to gain or she'll head toward fat.
They love their Natural Balance (Ultra Original), and I tried NB low cal which is only 16% fewer calories and Meika loves it even more. She acts like it's candy and scarfs it up. I wish I could find a food she liked less.
I'll be watching this thread, wish you all the luck, and hope I find a solution too. Will be getting green beans today.
