I feel for you. I am going through the same thing. We have 2 schnauzers, 1 fat, 1 weight is fine. Two yorkies. 1 fat, 1 skinny. I have the fat schnuzer (Lexi) and fat yorkie (Kayla) on OM prescription diet food. The one schnauzer that her weight is okay (Tina) eats Welliness Senior. The tiny little male yorkie (Dudley) is on K/d prescription diet because he is being watched for liver problems. Oh, the fun of it. lol!!! I have to seperate them because everyone tries to eat each others food. They only get green beans right now for snacks. Kayla has lost some and doing good. Lexi is losing but slower than Kayla. The vet said not to free feed them. She give me a cup to measure their food, and oh my gosh, I thought, they are going to starve. We have always fed them like a bunch of little pigs and free feed too. It is so important for them to get that weight off though, that I have really tried. I don't want Lexi to end up with diabetes. Schnauzers are prone to diabetes. Kayla is doing so much better with CT since she has lost. Just hang in there and don't free feed and if they are really over weight alot, try the OM. Has really helped mine. |
