Hi guys! My name is Aymee. I am almost 28 and am originally from a small town in AL, but currently living in PA due to my husbands job. I am not a Yorkie owner....yet.
My husband and I moved to PA about 5 years ago. Our nearest family member is over 12 hours away and we do not have any children. We are having so many problems with infertility, but that is another story. I am a housewife and my husband works for the railroad. Since he works such long hours and I am so far away from family, I get so lonely. I am alone almost all the time and am really seeking companionship. I have adored Yorkies for such a long time and I think we have decided to make the jump into becoming the proud parents of a Yorkie. We each had dogs (not Yorkies) when we were growing up but have not had a dog since we have been married. I am really just looking for a companion that I can spend time with and devote all my energy to. I am a housewife and as you can imagine, have a lot of time on my hands.
So, I would like to know...where do I start? What can I do to be informed before making the jump into owning a Yorkie? I want to make sure I know all I can. I have been reading almost anything I can find online but all this reading has kind of scared me at the same time. I have read so much about bad breeders and puppy mills that I am scared about finding our Yorkie. Also, since I want to be the best Mom I can be to our new addition, where can I learn about all I need to know on caring for a Yorkie? Can anyone recommend a good breeder in PA? Can anyone answer any questions that I may not be asking that I should be asking? It will be December/January before we purchase a Yorkie. I wanted to have plenty of time to do extensive research.
Thank you so much for your time and I hope I didn't ask too much. I look forward to chatting with some of you!
