You said you talked to the vet - at his office? Has he seen the dog? If not, I would take him in for a good check-up and tests for worms, etc.. Is his belly really large - is that why you said it looks like it drags the floor - or just because his legs are short? Can you take a webcam picture or video of him and post it?
