Yes, indeed stress can cause bloody stools. It is probably colitis.
And, yes, dogs do get very depressed when they lose a pal. My George used to sleep in my bed right next to me and Cody. When Cody passed in 2009, George was so depressed for months and would not sleep in my bed. To this day he will not sleep in my bed. I spend extra special cuddle time with him and I do think he is over it now; but it took him months. He did not eat well and just seemed out of sorts...kind of hard to explain but I knew he was very sad.
I think they go through a grieving process and it just takes time just like it does for us. |
