Thanks everyone. All of his bloodwork and other tests have come back normal. The past two years we've cut back Mickey's feedings, tried W/D, R/D, and LITE (science diet foods), he's on dry only, he's smothered with attention when he's not sleeping, and he LOVES it outside.
Mickey use to be a daddy's boy. He and my husband were best buddies. My husband's job changed and became more demanding, then the addition of my son... his personality (and size) have completley changed. Mickey won't allow my husband to pick him up anymore - he pees on himself when my husband comes around. It hurts my hubby's feelings - Mickey has NEVER once been abused by my husband, but he sure does act like it. It has to be depression, I just can't find a way to snap him out of it. Thanks for the suggestions. I'll talk to my vet about trying the pumpkin! I'm not sure if hubby will go for a behavior specialist - he's more of a "farm dog" type. So for now, I just love on my big boy!! |
