Our Tina had the same problem. I noticed it for the first time one evening when she fell asleep in my lap and "let go." It scared me to death, I was worried that she was dying or something. When I looked it up I found many references to spayed females losing control when they are sleeping. Something related to estrogen levels and aging. Your dog seems young for this particular condition, though. We had Tina examined by our vet a several times to try to figure out if there was a physical problem, she could never find anything related to UTI or bladder infection. We got a waterproof mattress cover and started diapering her at night. But the good news is that she eventually stopped doing it after about 12 months. |
