Has anyone found a harness that will help minimize these tangles? Or should I get him a collar so that he always has on his ID tag, and just put the harness on him when he goes for walks?
Use a thin t-shirt under his harness and teach the walker how to put the harness on. It only takes a few seconds to put one on anyway, and I'm sure she could manage a t-shirt too. There is no way you can avoid mats by leaving a harness on all the time anyway, but just to use for walks, and with a thin tee is best.
