We think Teddy was bit by an unknown insect. It happened at 2:30 AM - Teddy started to scratch the back of his neck. There was a lump and I thought maybe it was his collar so I took it off. I saw it was red and irritated so I put a topical ointment on it. We went back to bed and he was restless so I took him downstairs and using a cookie for collateral I was able to check him out more -- his face and neck was swelling but he had no hives and was acting normal. So I was like do I go to the ER or not? Well as I was pondering it, he fell asleep. So I watched him for a while and all seemed fine and the swelling was going down. This morning he again seemed fine. I ran an errand and came back and his eyes were red and his face swollen again.
I'm at the vet now - they are working on him giving him steroid and benadryl. He's all lumpy and bumpy and it's not a classic presentation so they are drawing blood.
