She took her last breath on the way to the hospital. I took her body to UNH for necropsy and find myself rather annoyed to be having to call around for results, which turn out to be pretty inconclusive. The finding is "gastroenteritis" and some notes it does not appear to be viral though some lab results were still not in as of last week when I got the incomplete necropsy report. The vet who spoke to me sounded like it was not that unusual for a puppy to suddenly die of this without ever having looked sick. He spoke of immune defiencies that may have allowed something to overwhelm her system. Her Hungarian breeder isn't interested. I'm grateful Alyssa of New Deal is not a close relative to any of my other dogs, but I'd really like to understand more of what went wrong. Has anyone ever seen anything like this?
Wow that was so fast. I have no idea, I don't recall hearing of something like that before. Unfortunately having them posted more often than not will turn up inconclusive results.
