I have taken medications such as Pepcid, Aciphex, or Prevacid daily for longer than twenty years. If I forget to take it, even the blandest food will cause acid reflux minutes after I have one bite of food. I don't drink carbonated drinks and only drink water for the most part. I started giving Ashley Pepcid twice daily with her stomach issues, and her vet said it would not harm her. My husband's gastroenterologist told us that the only harm of taking too much Pepcid is that it might affect how much calcium the body absorbs. If your obstetrician said it's okay for you to take it, you can try one maximum strength Pepcid a day. When Pepcid was a prescription, the dosage was one maximum strength tablet twice a day. Pepcid AC is like Pepcid, but it also has something like Tums in it. Hopefully won't need to take Tums if you start taking Pepcid daily. Once you have acid, it will take over an hour for it to begin working, since it helps to stop the production of acid being made and works differently than Tums. I hope that you begin to have relief. I wish you only the best for you and your baby.
