Default Royal Canin

Is Royal Canin just junk food or what??

I have to put Fido on Royal Canin Obesity dog food cause it's the only thing that works making him loose weight and keeping him in the right weight, I read about the ingredients and these are they:

Dehydrated poultry meat, wheat, vegetable fibres, beet pulp, maize gluten, wheat gluten, animal fats, hydrolised animal proteins, minerals, psyllium husks and seeds, fish oil, sodium polyphospate, taurine, hydrolised crustaceans (source of glucosamine), L-carnitine, marigold extract (source of lutein), hydrolased cartilage (source of chondroitin).

Is this OK ? or is this bad?? I will propably have to have him always on this food cause its the only thing that works to keep him in the right weight (he gets fat even on light dog foods that are suppose to make him loose weight or be in the same weight, I had him on Hill's Light for a month and he gained 2 pounds !)
He needs to loose about 3 pounds I think, he's suppose to be 6 kilos and is not 7,7 kilos not sure what it is in pounds.
