I'm a little late but just saw this. My BF also didn't know any better and purchased my Porscha for $5,000 on 12/5 from Puppy Boutique. She was 8 wks and less than 1lb. In the middle of the night on 12/11 we were in ER for seizures costing us another $5k. The vet suggested I return her immediately to avoid the bills but there was no way my BF and I could do that. I followed up with 3 other vets, did all sorts of testing, bile acid etc. Vets ruled out that she must have been overmedicated since Puppy Boutique sent her home with 4 different meds - clavamox, deworming, "vitamins" etc. She is now 10 months old and since she was my first yorkie at the time I've rushed her to the vet's at least once or twice a wk over the littlest things - so much $ spent with zero regrets. She is my most prized possession and my BF and I wouldn't have done a thing differently. Though he is very glad that I'm not so paranoid with our second one - not so much vet bills for him to pay! On a go forward we will NOT support petstores/puppy mills but we do very much love our babies! I so feel I need them more than they need me! |
