When I have done the phone interview then I have all household members come to visit me and my cast of thousands..LOL..That means dogs too. I don't let them take the puppy then..I send them away to talk it over and if they live close, come back another day. If several hours away I still send them away to discuss the pros and cons of me as a breeder, my beasties, the prices, and the SALES AGREEMENT. It is fairly encompassing and is a spay/neuter agreement with limited reg.
When all goes well, that family is blessed and trusted with one of my treasures babies..I do not place in homes where certain conditions exist-very young children, very elderly, long days without interaction and much more..Only once have I placed a puppy in a home with younger children but this woman just spoke to my heart and I KNEW they would be a good family.. |
