Hello everyone - it's my first post and visit to this forum.

I have 2 yorkies and a 2 year old (with another baby on the way). I would not reccommend a yorkie to a young family. I had my two boys, as I like to call them, before marriage and children came into the picture. The dogs are set in their ways. My son is fine around them, but I shut them in a different room when other young kids come over. I do not trust the kids or the dogs.

I think it would be safer for all involved for a growing family to wait a few years before inviting a small dog into their home. You never know how the personalities will mesh - it's one of those after-the-fact kind of things you find out.

I hope the harmony between my son and the dogs continue. My heart would break if it ever became an issue!
