How does it work if I don't know what kind of meds he needs until he sees a vet and then they sell me their meds while im there
For heartworm medication (Interceptor), my vet charges a small fee to allow for internet prescription approval. Your vet possibly may not charge a fee. As long as you can wait a few days for the medication to arrive, I don't see any harm in asking to do this.

Here is an estimate of what I save:

Fee: $10.00 (one-time charge which I pay upon leaving)
12-Month Package of Interceptor from Drs. Foster and Smith: $47.88

12-Month Package of Interceptor from my vet: about $85.00

I am very picky as to what online pharmacy I use. I have had no complaints with Drs. Foster and Smith. I am sure others can recommend other reputable online sources.
