The thing I hate about clipping the hair around the eyes, is you will have to always do it. And as soon as the clipped hair gets any tiny amount of growth, the direction is directly in the eyeball. Then you have to get some blunt nosed scissors or clippers reeeeaaaallly close the the eye to cut them short again. Not something I want to do again. Someone told me to clip it, but as soon as it started to grow out again, I realized these people do not groom their dogs themselves, and this is a bad idea.

I say just wait it out and let it grow. Eventually it will grow enough where the weight of the hair will make it lay down on its own without any product.
