I'm sorry if this insults property owners, but I think a pet rent is completely unecessary, and way over the top. I agree with a non-refundable pet deposit, but not with pet rent. If you didn't have a pen, you would have other belongings that take up space.

Setting my personal feelings aside, $30 does not sound too bad. I've seen places that charge $80-$100 per pet, per month in addition to an outrageous non refundable deposit.
I've been calculating and I think the time I get the puppy, I will be out of here. I'm only staying here for 9 months. Then I'm moving back to the bay and bf and I will find a place that will allow our babies. Rent is much cheaper there, I guess it's because I won't have to be close to a particular area. I can't wait to finish school!
