I live a few streets away from a beautiful fresh water pond. (80 Acres). So I always walk around the pond either with one of the dogs or by myself. I do carry pepper spray with me at all times and my cell phone. I do this not so much for my safety as I feel very safe around my neighborhood, but nervous of loose dogs near my pups. We have a leash law but there are always the few that don't obey rules.
