If a dog can wiggle out of a harness, you wouldn't want to leave him alone it it. I don't know how big Fido is, but dogs under 10 pounds probably shouldn't ever be left alone, and I don't like to see a dog tied up outside no matter how big he is. I know not everyone has a fenced yard, but you can walk your dog or use pee pads. Even though we have a fence, Joey isn't left outside alone.

I think she's mentioned that Fido is a teapot and is approximately 10lbs maybe a little more.
