Quite a while ago I bought a Maltese puppy from a breeder that had kept her to show but her nose color was not black enough so I was able to purchase her. It is a show defect but of course does not effect their ability to be a great pet. It was a few years back so I am having a hard time remembering exactly but her nose would get darker during certain times of the year and would look normal but when the seasons changed her nose would look more of a brown color. I read that it had something to do with the sun and vitamin D and or E. Some people were putting Vit E out of a vit E capsule on their dog's noses. I didn't as it really did not bother me or her that much. I'll bet if you googled it you could find better info. Maybe a breeder could help you. Are you going to show or breed you puppy?
