Funny you should mention his size. I thought it was quite nice too. I just weighed him and he's 4 lbs 2 oz. He could stand to be a little heavier, but at 1year old he's really still filling out. I picked him up from his handler this morning after a disastrous showing last weekend in Balson Spa NY where he couldn't even pick up a reserve. I know the dog that got 3 of the 5 reserves and last time I saw that one last spring he was a scraggly haired 2 year old limping around the ring but still picking up points. I wonder if it has anything to do with his owner being an AKC judge.
Anyway, Balston Spa finished me off. My handler's feeling is that Cooch was beautifully groomed and showing well but the judges don't seem to be liking his small size this year. Six years ago I went to my first show with a gorgeous 6 lb dog that looked big and clunky next to the itty bitty things that were popular that year. I guess you really have to follow trends and be ready to run with the latest fad.
