I wouldn't know. Kaji was older, all his puppy coat was gone when he came home. I will say this, from a few pics that I did see, his puppy hair did not look soft and fluffy. It looked frizzy and nappy. That was cut off to reaveal an adult soft news growing under all that frizz.
