I think it is definitely a generalization that yorkies aren't good with small children. But, as a preschool teacher I have taught children from about 6 weeks old up to four years. Every child is different. I can however say that at some point every child will accidentally fall and a tiny puppy being under them is a huge risk. It all depends on the family and if the proper supervision is provided. And even if child and puppy are supervised 100% of the time you add to your risk because you can't always be within arms reach. Most children are so kindhearted they would never hurt an animal intentionally. It's just those accidents that would worry me. Also if the child is a little older and something were to happen I would worry about the effect it might have on the child psychologically. JMHO of course.
