If they have already started its hard to get them to stop. Callie was used to jumping for at least the first year of her life but then I was told she has LP and that jumping is bad for that and I tried to get her to use the stairs but when she jumped and ended up hurting her front leg (and we are not talking a small yorkie shes 16 pounds) the orthopedic surgeon found that her front leg over extends out when she jumps and lands so it got very important to keep her from jumping with the LP and the problem with her front yard. I have to remind her sometimes when she is looking like shes going to jump I say stairs and she most of the time then goes to the stairs and uses them.
