He was under obligation to inform the court of the "clerical error" when he noticed it. He is first and foremost an officer of the court. Secondly, he is to provide a zealous defense.
I think his colorful past w financial difficulties, lack of child support payments, etc., speak to his character. It is why his legal licensure was held up.
