So we're finally adding a new addition to our family, his name is Dexter and he is a rescue. The vet says he is anywhere from 2-5 years old, and he is recovering from heartworm treatment. It's been 21 days since his treatment so he is ready to come home this Saturday, BUT he has to be remained caged-no jumping at all!! And have very minimum activity for another 3 weeks. We can take him out of the cage and put him up on the couch, bed etc. And when he goes potty he has to be on a short leash. I guess any kind of over exersion can be really bad for him while he's still recovering. Gizmo will be 3 in November and this will be his first "doggie" sibling, any suggestions on how to get him adjusted to his new brother? I don't want him to feel as if he's being replaced or that we don't love him as much
