Pretty much positive training and I like to say I use relationship-based methods. I suppose it's kind of a "new" way of teaching. I consider him a friend, or a student, and I am like his teacher. I'm not above him, we're equal partners, but I am just helping expand his mind.
He understands "no" and "leave it" and "stay" are serious business (however, these were all taught using positive reinforcement methods). We use the clicker for a lot of things. So I use positive reinforcement combined with positive punishment (i.e. a reward is withheld for doing something wrong).
