Armani has his follow up with our regular vet this morning. She said it was a pretty large ulcer, but that the stain was negative and it is healing nicely. She was also shocked about what happened at the first ER vet, I guess she saw no reason that it should not have been handled there, and she was flabbergasted that nothing was done there as far as testing goes at the very least. She said the Yorkie is not a breed you typically see a lot of eye ulcers in unless there is some underlying condition- so unless he is a major klutz, something else probably caused it. who, what, we don't know. She said it is possible it could have happened at the groomer- if that is the case, it probably started out as a very small injury to the eye, which I did not notice- then it started to bother him and he began to paw at it, or rub it, and he made it larger. But that is only a guess- she cannot say for sure how it happened. But I guess the good thing is that he is healing nicely on the road to a full recovery.

On a side note, Armani needs a dental- she said his teeth are not bad at all, no tartar but a little inflammation around the gumline, so it is best to deal with it now before it gets worse. She wants to wait a few weeks though so that his eye is totally healed before he is put under, so we scheduled for early September.

Also- not to be a vibes monger BUT- my mom also took in her toy poodle and my childhood cat today, the cat is 19 and has been walking with her hocks very low lately, the vet thinks she is succumbing to her kidney disease, she has also lost a TON of weight in the last two months and she is very concerned about her- we are waiting on bloodwork before any further decisions are made. They also believe my moms toy poodle may have a tick borne disease because she too has been walking funny the last few days, is running a fever, and lethargic. So vibes for all the pets on this end would be appreciated
