I have a 15.5 month old an a 14 week old yorkie and they do just fine. Jacob rarely falls, and when he does, Zoe scoots right out of the way. I have almost tripped over her more than he has. They are the best of friends and Jacob is always cautious of her. "scuse me" is what you always hear from him when she won't get out from under his feet
