Potty training/crate question Hi all.
I just picked up my baby girl Finley (10 weeks old) last Friday. We are doing really good at loving our crate and have only had 1 accident in it (poop, which was no ones fault because poor girl couldnt go for her first 24 hours in her new home), going potty outside when taken, and eating and drinking like a champ. My only concern and this may just be part of the training is when in the house she literally can pee every 20 minutes. I feel like we take her out and 20 minutes later she is peeing inside, which has resulted in us basically living outdoors. I do not want to use puppy pads because it is not a habit i want to instill in her. Does anyone have a good day timeline as to how much playtime, outside of cate, and inside crate we should be doing in regards to teaching her to hold her potty/potty outside? I dont want her to be locked up at all times but she does her best at holding it for several hours while in there and only 20-30 minutes outside of it. I know Yorkies are very hard to train (this is my 2nd one, the first had to be given away during my divorce several years ago, and my parents have one as well) but any helpful tips would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!! |
