So I decided to try the potty patch but didn't want to pay for it since I just bought a 200 pack of puppy pads and the litter box. So I made one instead. I bought fake grass and plastic egg crate at the hardware store. I cut it down to the size of the litter box and zip tied the grass to the egg crate. I used a drill to make a bunch of holes in the grass so it would drain better. I put it in the litter box with puppy pads underneath and she used it right away. She hasn't pooped in it yet which will be the big test but I have a good feeling about it.

Overall I spent as much as it would have cost to buy the potty patch but I have a whole lot of spare fake grass and egg crate to make replacements. And I like the idea of the taller sides of the litter box compared to the potty patch.
