I don't know if there is anything specific you could ask them, but I'd tell you to see how they interact with your pups, and how the pups react to them. That's probably the best thing for you to do. when I took Fiona to her first offical vet visit after I got her, i didn't like the male vet that was there, and the next visit I asked for someone else, and it was a much better fit.
