Hoover gets my vote too. Ours just recently broke down after years and I had to rent a rug doctor. Wow - I had a sore back after doing one room. I didn't realize how nice my Hoover was!!!! It is always nice to have your own shampooer. You will shampoo your carpets lots more frequently than if you rented or hired someone. So they stay nice and clean.
