Doesn't matter that it happens sometimes and that it goes away on its own. Your pup needs to see a vet today to figure out just what is going on. It's best to get him in in the middle of an episode. He is obviously very uncomfortable and this is not something that should be treated with home remedies. What if he has an infection or eye disease that you only notice at certain times, etc.? The eyes should never wait. Things can go bad very quickly.
