My vet is separating vaccines even in large breed dogs. My vet follows the AAHA guidelines as well.
Lepto is prevalent in our area, but I decided to discontinue giving it to my older dogs and my youngest dog has never had it. Your vet will know if lepto is prevalent in your area. Ask what strains of lepto your vet is seeing, and if the vaccine covers those particular strains because it does not cover all of them.
