Teach your dog "down" and "come" and work on recall. At the same time, Yorkie proof your home. My boys were trained to stay at the door, but one day, Teddy broke and shot out the garage to chase the UPS truck down the street. We put up baby gates to keep the boys from the doors.
My boys also got into the backyard when I had the gate open. In both instances, the boys listened to my command to either come or stop and go down.
Train, but do everything possible to prevent your pup from getting out of the house off leash.
