Presently, my sister's 7 yr old, 3 lb. Yorkie has had blood work and urine tests which show a loss of protein. The second round of testing, just done, shows a worsening of the problem even though the vet prescribed medication and a special food. The vet is contacting a specialist to determine the next course of action. This tiny Yorkie has lost 12 oz. and will not eat the special food. She is very fragile to begin with. Don't know what treatment will now be prescribed.
