Yesterday 8/12 we brought her to the rescue for her but the Vet was noted on the paperwork that she is not a Morkie but a Biewer Yorkie. The Vet for the rescue cleaned her teeth, spayed, rabies vaccination, micro chipped her and tested for heart worm yesterday. Big day for little Daisy, who is resting by my side now. We were told the Vet knows the previous owner/breeder and had encouraged the breeder into bring his dogs to rescue. We will try to post a pic soon. She is about 3 y/o, 4lbs, long tail, floppy ears, big brown eyes, and all heart. Potty training has been a little challenging, as we expected, but since her surgery yesterday she has let us know when she needs to go and no accidents inside (knock on wood). I think the catalyst was newspaper. My wife had an epiphany yesterday and said “We bought pee pads but she may be used to the smell of newspaper”. That seemed to do the trick. We put the paper outside, sat her on it, and off she went.I’m finding this site to be a wonderful resource and will probably be here a lot in the future. Cheers! | Hello and Welcome to YorkieTalk! Bless you for the rescue.
I had to laugh at your epiphany. The very same thing happened here about the newspapers and puppy pads, when Piccolo first came to our house. |
