Belle was in heat when she was spayed a little more than 2 weeks ago. She had to be because she was in persistant eutrus (her heat cycle was not ending - was in heat from first week of June until she was spayed on July 27th) The surgery went well, but her uterus was enlarged and more vascular due to being in heat - her incision is longer than for a routine spay. She is fine now. Good luck with your little girl in whatever you decide to do.
