Your biggest job in all this is consistency and patience. Think of it like this: you speak English and someone is teaching you a foreign language (French or Spanish). Do you think you would know it and be good at in a week without making any mistakes? Absolutely not! What about a month? A few months? Likely not. Well, your puppy is learning a new language so-to-speak. So give your pup the same patience and BE CONSISTENT!!! One slip up by you and you lose all the reinforcement you have built up.
I would also recommend that you watch Cesar on National Geographic b/c he is very effective with teaching dogs what to do and what not to do. Plus, he's very entertaining.
