Was scared but nothing was broken, thank the Good Lord. Took her for a walk to see if she limped or anything all seemed fine but wanted to be held which is unusual for her. Monday she seem lethargic but ate and drank some. Tuesday was more lethargic so I took her to the pet clinic, told me she was sore but would be fine in a few days. Later that day she began vomiting up whatever she ate and had diarhea which was black in color. I know that could mean internal bleeding. Took her to a regular vet today. They ran blood test which were normal and took x-rays which they will have the results tomorrow. Said she should be ok in a couple of weeks if not I am to return her to the vet. She is only 13 months and VERY active. Her just laying there is not like her. Is this normal after such a accident such as this? I lost my husband 2 years ago and last fall I adopted her from a rescue group. Elizabeth has put activity in my life after my husbands passing. I can't have any thing happen to her. Any advise would be greatly appreciated |
Meaning she
was hit by a car. Whether she ran into it or it hit her is moot. She was hit by a car. That tiny thing, impacted a moving vehicle.
She should have been taken to the vet AS SOON AS IT HAPPENED, not taken for a walk (seriously????). I cannot even begin to express how I feel about this situation... I am pretty sure it would get me banned.
All I have to say to this is: Don't get another dog if you aren't aware enough to realize that being HIT BY A CAR means a trip to the vet IMMEDIATELY.
RIP Elizabeth
